THESIS: THE GREAT PLAGUE OF 1665
The Great Plague of London of 1665 was an event that devastated the population of England's largest city. More than 100,000 Londoners died because of this disease. During that time, the cause of the Great Plague was unknown and there was no cure. Doctors tried the best they could to treat the disease, based on their limited medical knowledge. Most of their treatments were actually ineffective and mainly based on superstition. If you caught the disease, you would most likely die. This tragic event inspired future doctors to focus on the cause, treatment and cure of this deadly disease - The Bubonic Plague.
